Is this the end of the camera strap?

Olympus orchestrate OM revival with new OM-D
Olympus are rolling back the years once again. After the success of the PEN series of cameras, the company have turned to their legendary OM series with the unveiling of OM-D. Although not a fully-blown DSLR (the body is mirrorless and features an electronic viewfinder), there can be little doubt that the styling borrows heavily on the classic OM SLRs. Sigma unveils updated compacts and DSLR
Sigma has announced upgraded versions of its premium DP1 and DP2 compacts and SD1 DSLR. The new 'Merrill' versions of both compacts and DSLR have been named after the late Dick Merrill who helped the latest version of the 46 megapixel Foveon X3 sensor used by all three cameras. Olympus muscle in with two new Tough compacts
Hot on the heels of the Canon and Pentax rugged camera launches come the Tough 620 (shown here) and 820 from Olympus. Claiming to set new standards for indestructible compacts by delivering high quality images that are comparable to a DSLR. Pentax tough it out with rugged Optio WG2
While it may look like something out of a Transformers movie, this is Pentax's new rugged camera - the Optio WG2. Alongside its cold, water, dust and shockproofing capabilities, stand out features include 16 megapixel resolution and Full HD movie capture. There's also the WG2-GPS which comes with built-in GPS functionality. Both models will be available in March and you can see full spec details in the Pentax press release below:
Lots of Canon compacts, including rough and ready D20
Canon have launched a raft of new compact across their range. The new additions include six new models in the point-and-shoot PowerShot A series, two long zoom models in the PowerShot SX range, a brace of top-end models in the IXUS HS range and this rugged model, the PowerShot D20. Designed for active types, the D20 is water, shock, freeze and dustproof but still offers a 12.1 megapixel resolution, GPS and a 5x optical zoom.
